What if we choose forgiveness?
I discovered a beautiful Buddhist prayer of forgiveness this week. The part that spoke to me the most was the end: “For all the ways that I harm myself, negate, doubt, belittle myself, judge or be unkind to myself through my own confusions, I forgive myself.”
What if the harm we have done to others, and the harm others may have done to us is all the result of simply being confused for a moment about who we are and what we are here to do for each other?
What if this week we choose to be generous with forgiveness, especially when it comes to the judgments we place upon ourselves?
What if by releasing judgment and resentment, we create an opening for joy, fulfillment, and prosperity to come bounding even more abundantly into our lives?
“Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be children of your Father in heaven; for he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good; and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. ” – Matthew 5:44-45
P.S. Our archives from yesterday’s CONVERGENCE, “Breaking Free” are now available online. Azim Khamisa and Lincoln Crockett were my guests as we talked about the three steps for moving through pain and resentment into our fullest expression of Life.
