What if you simplify your life?

What if you simplify your life?I’ve been re-reading Walden this week by Henry David Thoreau. More than 150 years ago, he began a quest to understand the “essential” elements of a meaningful life by spending almost three years in a ten by fifteen foot cabin built by his own hands in the woods near Walden Pond. I am inspired:

What if simplifying our lives helps us focus more clearly on the things that matter most to us?

What if you take a few minutes each day this week to consolidate your music library, clear out old books, or give away treasures that are dusty from neglect?

What if eliminating the clutter in your life frees you to appreciate the natural beauty of your surroundings?  What if it brings your heart to a pure, simple state of peace?

Our life is frittered away by detail… Simplify, simplify, simplify! We are happy in proportion to the things we can do without.” ~ Henry David Thoreau

Travel to Walden Pond and spend 5 minutes drinking in the possibilities… Inspiring video!

Walden Pond was required reading in my college freshman english class. I appreciate your insights into how he simplified his life to focus on what was important. Walden Pond is a must read classic.
